With summer coming in a couple of weeks from now, it’s pretty clear we should expect big things from all the major streetwear brands, regarding shapes, graphics and colours, let’s try and see what the biggest ones, including all the brands that will shape this summer’s style are.
The Oversized OFF-White Status Quo
Virgil Abloh’sOFF-White is a brand that doesn’t need presentations. Since 2015, Virgil’s creations have been in the spotlight almost for every single collection, given what is now currently defined as “Designer’s Streetwear”. This summer, OW is undoubtedly taking advantage of all the hype around oversized tees and shirts, of course implementing their own trademark and uniqueness. My best pick for a LIT outfit this year would be their Mona Lisa T-shirt, which could be yours for £200, currently.
Anything Stone Island, Really
Stone Island is the definition of hypebeast: their products are flashy, made of quality and with unique designs. This summer, they tried to break this stereotype by creating something that could be more casual: their t-shirts, for reference, are indeed clean and straightforward, with no particular add-ons or prints. The price for a simple Stone Island fluctuates around £90.
Gucci And Extreme Graphics
Gucci’s streetwear is something… particular, to say the least. This year, the Italian fashion brand is relying a lot on light blue, pink and white. These colours are indeed a perfect fit for a beach-oriented outfit, but they could also work for a fantastic night out. My personal favourite is and always will be the blue tiger T-Shirt. That, combined with a solid denim shirt, is a KILLER outfit!
When it comes to streetwear, accessories are a must-have. This summer, let’s keep this in mind without exaggerating: whether if it’s a Bape bag or something Supreme related, you should always have at least one excellent piece that perfectly fits your outfit. Otherwise, a small flaw could eventually kill what you are wearing! (I know, I’m a perfectionist)
If you are going to a big meeting, everyone knows that your watch could raise the level of your whole outfit. In the end, it’s the same thing when it comes to streetwear;women’s loungewear, in fact, is coming back again this year in different shapes and forms, you better be ready for it!
With many different ones to choose from, sneakers are THE starting point for a streetwear-based outfit, whether if male or female-oriented: this summer, Nike and Adidas are clearly raising the bar by collaborating with many brands such as Off White, Bape and Supreme. Will these be able to compete against the new Yeezys coming out shortly?
